Spring is in Full Swing at SAR

Wow, I can’t believe that March is here, and we are in full swing of the spring selling season. With the rain coming down in buckets, Sacramento is on the list of cities and counties under emergency orders, and this will affect your transactions. In addition to slowing the escrow down, it can have an impact on the insurance your client has chosen. Just a heads up for you all.

The Sacramento Association of REALTORS® just released the 2024 Director and Officer applications! If you have ever considered getting more active and have met the criteria, we would love to have you apply for one of the open seats on the board. Click here for more information and a link to the application. Your path to leadership is just a few clicks away.

We had a great Main Meeting on Tuesday with a packed house. Speaker Gov Hutchinson is always a true delight with his humorous take on such serious issues like Rent Control, Best Practices for REALTORS®, and the ever-popular New Forms that we will likely face in the future. As Assistant General Counsel and Staff Vice President for C.A.R., he is wise and informative.

Our Education Department is hosting Robert Brand on 3/14 from 10am – 11am, teaching his popular Staying Out of Court: Advanced Level Strategies. Then we have Understanding the Residential Purchase Agreement class on 3/16 from 9am – 1pm. Both are valuable additions to your toolbox and will help you with your business. On 3/22 SAR is hosting What Every REALTOR® Should Know about Airbnb for converting furnished homes into Airbnbs instead of selling them. The key is to be part of the conversation and be a valuable resource to assist your clients with understanding the process.

Starting on 3/11, the Scholarship Committee and Toastmasters are having their Shamrock Shuffle Fun Run. It’s not too late to be part of the action and get a cool shirt too. Click the link above to register.

This month’s YPN Mixer will be held on 3/22 from 5:30 – 7:30pm in Elk Grove at The Bank Shot (8535 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624). This will be a great event and an opportunity to mix and mingle with your peers as well as make connections with our Preferred Partners. Mixers are free to SAR Members, but you must RSVP here.

Next month, in keeping with our messaging about Membership Benefits, we will start having Members register in advance for the Main Meeting and Preferred Partners Forum as these are Member Only events. It may seem awkward at first, but I promise that once everyone gets the hang of it, we will be finding ways to assist our Members better.

See you around town or at the next SAR event.
