SAR Charitable Foundation Welcomes New Board of Directors, Ushering in a New Era of Community Impact

The Sacramento Association of REALTORS® (SAR) Charitable Foundation is proud to announce its new Board of Directors for 2025-2026, marking the most significant leadership transition since the foundation’s inception. With a renewed focus on its mission of addressing critical housing needs, supporting underserved communities, and fostering sustainable neighborhoods, this new leadership team is poised to amplify the foundation’s impact in the Sacramento region.

The 2025 SAR Charitable Foundation Officers are:

  • Chair: Victoria Millan
  • Vice-Chair: Karen Berkovitz
  • Treasurer: Mershad Khazari
  • Secretary: Amy Karle

Joining them as 2025-2026 Directors are:
Amy Karle, Gail Robards, Karen Berkovitz, Victoria Millan, Mershad Khazari, Brenda Horton, Chad Talach, Jenean Watson, Matthew Miller, Stephen T. Webb, Veronica Nelson, and Richard Brooks.

The SAR Charitable Foundation strengthens the Association’s tradition of giving back to the community, focusing on shelter, affordable housing, and sustainable community initiatives. Its efforts have positioned SAR as a consistent leader in corporate philanthropy, recognized annually by the Sacramento Business Journal. Contributions to the foundation support a wide range of impactful activities, including:

  • Assisting with homeownership, affordable housing, and combating homelessness.
  • Supporting underserved families, low-income communities, and at-risk youth.
  • Developing and preserving livable, sustainable neighborhoods.

Outgoing Chair Leon Williams expressed his confidence in the new leadership, stating:
“As I step down as Chair of the SAR Charitable Foundation, I’m incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made together. The new board embodies the passion and commitment that our foundation stands for, and I am confident they will carry forward our mission with even greater dedication.”

Incoming Chair Victoria Millan shared her excitement for the future, emphasizing:
“I am deeply honored to step into the role of Chairman. With a clear vision and strategic plan, I am confident that together with our dedicated board members, we will strengthen our fundraising efforts, raise awareness about our mission, and share the inspiring stories of those whose lives are profoundly impacted by your generous support.”

A History of Generosity and Impact

The SAR Charitable Foundation’s work includes partnering with over 30 local non-profit organizations to address critical community needs. Charities supported by the foundation include:

  • Loaves and Fishes
  • Rebuilding Together – Sacramento
  • Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services
  • St. John’s Program for Real Change
  • Women’s Empowerment
  • And many more.

SAR volunteers contribute their time and energy through activities such as preparing meals at Wellspring Women’s Center, cleaning up the American River Parkway, and participating in workdays for Rebuilding Together. These efforts reflect the generosity of Sacramento REALTORS®, whose time, money, and commitment to the community have made a lasting difference.
