SAR Town Hall Meeting

NAR announced a proposed settlement agreement that would end litigation of claims brought on behalf of home sellers related to broker commissions. The settlement is subject to court approval.

The agreement would resolve claims against NAR, over one million NAR members, all state/territorial and local REALTOR® associations, all association-owned MLSs, and all brokerages with an NAR member as principal that had a residential transaction volume in 2022 of $2 billion or below.

Join us on Monday, April 1st, 2024 at 11:00 AM for a special virtual Town Hall Meeting covering the recent proposed NAR settlement.

C.A.R. speakers and SAR leadership will address and provide a summary of NAR’s Antitrust Settlement news, the impact on “copycat” cases, and the potential impact on buyer agency. Members are encouraged to send questions and concerns in advance to jessica@sacrealtor.org by March 30.  C.A.R. President Melanie Barker, Assistant General Counsel and VP of C.A.R., Gov Hutchinson, and SAR President Samantha Tov will address questions and misinformation, review the background of NAR’s recent litigation efforts, and outline the path of how we got here. Our guests will discuss the importance of communicating REALTOR® Value to clients in the post-settlement era.
