Calling all Grill Masters & BBQ lovers…

If you think you have what it takes to beat our reigning champion or you just like BBQ and fun, join us for this end of summer Community BBQ

The Sacramento Association of REALTORS® Charitable Foundation and CanTree Committee are hosting the 3rd annual BBQ Cook-off. This fundraiser is in benefit of the Salvation Army and charities of the foundation.

This BBQ Cook off will combine of network with vendors, bid on auction items, with a bit of friendly competition. Have some fun with the family with some outside activities and sweet treats!

The 2023 winning BBQer and Grill Master, Tamara McNeil, plans to take a 2nd championship this year! If you compete and beat the Grill Master, you go home with a cash prize for the crowd favorite BBQ, the Grill master Trophy, and FREE entry into next year’s competition!

Adults will get to sample all the delicious BBQ, a plate of BBQ with sides, and use their vendor passport to visit the vendor and get a chance to win a raffle prize.

Teens and children will get a plate of BBQ and have fun with outdoors activities and try some sweet treats. Enjoy the music and a cool drink to support a great cause!

This evening is a fun event to spend with the family. Where the parents can get some good BBQ competition and drinks and your little ones to jump start their weekend with outdoor activities! Don’t forget to mention the dessert auction and raffle prizes!

Vendors will receive a 6′ x 2.5′ table, 2 chairs, and 2 entry tickets that include a plate of BBQ. Guests receive a vendor passport in which they visit each vendor to get a stamp and turn in for a raffle. Be sure to bring your company easy up, marketing materials, and any swag to give out. The BBQer Ticket will get you a chance to win the grand cash prize, take home the trophy, and share your business with the community! Ticket includes the table, 2 chairs, and a plate of BBQ for you and your assistant BBQer.

There will be a panel of judges, grading each BBQ entry and a people’s choice to determine who the winner of BEST BBQ will be. Judging will consist of a people’s choice where the guests will taste each BBQers entry and vote at your tent, PLUS the scores of our panel of judges that will judge based on Taste, Tenderness, & Appearance. Those compiled scores will be tallied to determine the winning BBQ and Grill master.

Winner will receive $500, the grill master trophy, and of course bragging rights.

  1. BBQ entry MUST BE PORK OR BEEF RIBS that the BBQer MUST PROVIDE.
  2. BBQers are expected to provide your own easy up, grill, and other grilling needs such as power, propane, etc.
  3. SAR will provide the tasting boats, napkins, and utensils.
  4. BBQers may arrive as early as 9am to set up and start BBQing, if necessary. BBQers should be prepared by 4pm to serve incoming guests. People’s choice will be from 4-6pm and Celebrity Judging will take place at 6pm.
  5. Ribs can be prepped offsite and beforehand but MUST be cooked on site.
