CanTree Project

SAR LANDSCAPE WHITE (1)

Cantree2023600pxSAR CanTree is an annual fundraising effort of the Sacramento Association of REALTORS® Charitable Foundation to support the Sacramento Food Bank. Since 1983, SAR and the Foundation have raised more than $2.8 million to feed Sacramento’s hungry citizens. Formerly benefiting the Salvation Army Del Oro Division, CanTree continues the mission of feeding Sacramento’s hungry citizens with their new benefactor.

Every REALTOR® knows that a healthy community is crucial to their success. All the money raised for CanTree goes directly to The Sacramento Food Bank – none of it goes for administration or any other costs.

Timeline & Goals for CanTree

Community CanTree campaigns run from September through December. SAR seeks help from corporations and businesses, large and small, throughout the summer and fall. Committee applications are accepted through September. Applications and committee information is available on our Committees & Clubs page.

The goal for the Sacramento area is to reach a new fundraising record of $100,000. In the span of this project, SAR has raised more than $2 million for The Sacramento Food Bank. Each holiday season, the Sacramento Association of REALTORS® works to raise enough funds to help supply food to the Salvation Army, Sacramento schools, and other community partners served by The Sacramento Food Bank.

Benefiting Our Community

The funds are used by The Salvation Army to provide holiday food baskets and year–round food assistance programs for needy families and individuals in the Sacramento area. More than 165,000 local individuals are expected to benefit from the funds contributed through CanTree, according to The Sacramento Food Bank. CanTree is a critical factor in successfully feeding thousands of people during the Holiday Season.
